In 2006, our nephew, Alex, was diagnosed with Autism. As we tried to learn more about Autism, we found that there are still many unanswered questions. There are many theories on what causes Autism, but not one that has been definitively named the cause. There are also many different programs, therapies, and techniques that have been developed to assist individuals with Autism. However, many people are unaware of the opportunities available to them and their loved one with Autism. It is important to increase awareness and support research to help solve the puzzle.
Four years ago, our family organized a 26 person team, The "A"-Team for Alex, to participate in Autism Speaks' Walk for Autism. We continue participating in the walk each year, but we wanted to do more to raise awareness and support research and started PAR on the Course.
The community support and participation in the tournament is amazing. This is the fourth year of the tournament and we hope it continues to grow and be an annual event.
